So here are my proposed rules:
1 - Only one post per day but post can be as long as you want. That will limit the amount of back and forth chattiness.
2 - No using the quote function. Respond to each other by restating/paraphrasing the points made by others. That preserves the debate format.
3 - "Wall Street Journal" rule - language must conform to the editorial standards of a respected journal.
We'll have to select a moderator. Maybe some mod will volunteer.
Even though participation is limited to Christians, all AF members will be able to read and follow our discussion. However, I feel that it would be good to openly discuss the topic amongst ourselves. That's fine with me. I could just do without the heckling and having to explain myself to hecklers. I imagine a parallel thread formed to mock us but that's okay so long as they make enough popcorn for everyone.
All kidding aside, I think this is a very good idea. I've often wondered what motivates Christians to join atheist websites (and vicy-versy). I'd be interested to learn how you view yourselves and your role here. I hope it works out.
