What's to stop people from beating a child or an ex?

not a law here.. thankfully we can still beat our children as God intended. If you Spare the rod or use the rod sparingly you will spoil or make the child no good.
In more civilized eastern cultures public beating of not only children but adults have all but eliminated minor crimes. (like spitting gum out on the side walk for instance, and what's more major crimes are almost exclusively perpetrated by foreigners or organized crime.

The point is morality becomes law.
good or evil depends on where you live. here it is evil to beat.. there in the east and middle east it is immoral not to beat.
What makes one right and the other wrong?
Self righteousness.
Depends on what culture you are from, and remember no one is ever wrong in matters of good and evil when it is based on self righteousness.
So to us because we are self righteous/use our selfs as standards of right and wrong. eastern cultures are evil. and to those in the east who do not beat adulterous women and gays we are evil to allow such people to be celebrated in our culture/going unpunished.
Fuck you, fuck your God and fuck your stupid fucking Bible. Anyone who beats a child is a brutalizing monster who should be locked up.
