I think I was on here several years ago but I'm not sure. I struggle with being able to talk about my beliefs without being attacked, so I thought I would join again. I am agnostic. I believe in the Big Bang and I believe in evolution. I don't believe in an entity that created humans or Earth, for that matter. I also have several personal theories about human evolution but I digress. What keeps me from being a straight Atheist, and makes me Agnostic instead, is that I believe in universal energy and the possibility of life after death. I don't think it is a god that decides our fate. I think it might be an organic, scientific outcome of evolution. I could go on for days about my personal theory about that subject too. At any rate, I have had several times (more than several...) in my life when religious people have argued with me, hatefully (ironic, I know) and tried to 'save' me and attacked me and called me less than they are because I don't subscribe to the idea of humans appearing on the Earth a few thousand years ago or 'turning my life over' to Christ.
I will close for now Thank you for listening to me briefly describe my beliefs. I look forward to reading your posts.
Welcome Back. I recently returned after a 12 year hiatus.
Point of order.
Agnosticism is about knowledge, from the Greek Gnosis= knowledge a= without/not
Although the term tends to be used mainly in a religious sense, it can be used to describe any lack of knowledge. Every human being is agnostic about more things than not.
The term atheist also comes from the Greek. Atheos= without/not god.
One is either an atheist or one is not. You either believe or you do not. There is no third option.
I do not believe in god (s) due to a lack or empirical evidence. However, I make no claims. Hence I call myself an agnostic atheist.
The wiki article linked below is worth a glance.
Agnostic atheism is a philosophical position that encompasses both atheism and agnosticism. Agnostic atheists are atheistic because they do not hold a belief in the existence of any deity, and are agnostic because they claim that the existence of a deity is either unknowable in principle or currently unknown in fact.
The agnostic atheist may be contrasted with the agnostic theist, who believes that one or more deities exist but claims that the existence or nonexistence of such is unknown or cannot be known.[1][2][3]

Having said all that, not up to me to decide what you call yourself.
