At least we help whatever you perceive the reason why, you shouldn't weep, at least the believers of this world do something about those who are in need. Of course you could be weeping for yourself because you stand around doing nothing.

Is this a general reference to atheists?

Should I remind you what I was doing just over a year ago, GC?

Should I mention the hundred plus hours I did, unpaid, as a student, when we had wild fires in Australia?  Should I mention the stench of the burned corpses, the screams and agony of those I was working with at that time?  Should I mention putting off my expensive studies to help out?

I know what you did and was not referring to you, so please do not be so sensitive to what's said to others who imply that Christians do not do their work because they love the people they work for. Those people want to run down Christian work at all cost. Here's a fact, if Christians and the organisations they work with stopped all work there would be no one to fill the gap, people would not put up the billions Christian organisations spend every year. They would not volunteer there time or pat there way to places around the world. Remember this fact, with Christian organisations putting up all the money (no public tax dollars) we are not pulling away from our countries public needs. Here's another fact the people in need get great medical care, food, water and shelter. We also are some of the first to enter an area, long before any governments arrive. When great disasters such as powerful storms are headed to certain areas the three
organisations I mentioned stage a safe distances but close to the areas that will be effected days before the storms arrive, ready to move in the instant it's safe.
Yes I know many non-believers are hard at work for those in need, only a fool would think otherwise. I appreciate the work you do! I was going to Haiti to work in an Aids hospital but things fell through at the last minute, I was disappointed and never got the opportunity to go again and I would have had to pay my own way.
You and I have had this same conversation before I hope you will remember what was said here next time, you have my respect in your work and I hope that I and other Christians might receive your's. And what is wrong with Christians giving witness to Christ, the one who help inspire them to give up their time and money to help the ones who are in need, remember those workers also represent many, many others who have given their money to be of help. If we do not do these things then governments will and, that means tax dollars will leave the country to help others instead of doing the work they were intended to do at home. That is if the governments will even help and they certainly want be as effective as organisations that put full time effort into readying themselves for disasters. 

My problem in this kind of discussion is many atheist make stupid claims without facts just to try and take down Christianity, they want to shine what they see as a bad light on the good work of Christians, while they sit with their thumbs stuck up you know where, these are sad people that need to be pitted. Then there are the ones like yourself that do good things and don't complain, ones who I have respect for and most likely could be friend with.
