It seems the placebo effect of the placebo works!
It is a headfuck isn't it! But one has to go with the evidence. The fact is that the people who had the placebo, even knowing it was a placebo, did better than the ones without. Obviously most studies are designed to eliminate the placebo effect so the usual rules don't really apply when that is what we are testing!
I'm actually not all that surprised. It reflects what I've observed.
