A conversation that never happens..

"Mommy, which god do you believe in?"

"Well honey, I believe in Yahweh the Christian god"

"Which god should I believe in Mommy?"

"Well dear, you can choose Yahweh like me and your poppa and our family history as far back as we can remember. Or you could choose Allah or Vishnu or Shiva or, in fact, any one of the thousands of other available gods being worshipped today. There are countless thousands of ancient gods that you could also follow but they're not current. Take a while to weigh up the pros and cons and choose freely"

"OK mom, what if I don't take a fancy to any of them at all?"

"That's fine also sweetheart, you can simply become atheist and we will respect your decision and love you unconditionally"

"Thanks mom, you're very understanding and I appreciate you allowing me to think critically and make my own choices in life, especially with one as important as this"
