"Soviet style SKS" usually means norinco. Cheap chinese guns being used by american domestic terrorists. Teehee.
Oddly enough, it was exempt from bans because neither it (nor it's chinese high cap magazines) fit the legal definition of an assault weapon or a detachable magazine (despite being....detachable). A main battle rifle, field tested......but -not- the subject of even our most recent broad restrictions.
Imagine that. Might explain why they were imported by the millions and go for $100USD
I own one. I find restrictions that make my 22 squirrel gun illegal but leave my sks in it's own safe space are......misguided?
