I've taken care of hundreds of kids when I worked at a daycare for half a decade so I know the mechanics of having a kid around. I can handle the poop, snot, vomit, screaming for hours, etc but I don't know what it's like to do all that at 1am while sleep deprived. It is a very scary idea that I won't be able to give the kid back to their parent at the end of the day unless I hand her to my husband and walk away. I think it will be worth it though. I've suffered through this high risk pregnancy, have ate pretty much the most boring food ever with no alcohol for 9 months, little sleep, and everything hurting but seeing my husband light up when he feels her kick makes it all worth it. We can't wait to hold her despite how scared we are.
10 days or less to go! I am truly excited for you! I too had a high risk pregnancy. I had a perinatologist instead of a regular ob/gyn.
When she's born, it will have been all worth it.
