Because that's the summary of the Bible. That's what "hearing" is all about.
How does one conjure up the emotion "love" on demand? It's certainly possible to behave in a manner that others will perceive as loving, but the actual emotions are not guaranteed.
I simply can't feel any emotion at all towards the god of the Bible, positive or negative. Even as a fictional character it doesn't evoke any particular emotional response. The character is very badly written -- a mishmash of baffling behaviours and unfathomable motives -- and makes neither a good protagonist nor a good antagonist.
Right, if it actually turned up, there's no way to tell which parts of the text accurately describe it, and which don't. They can't logically all describe it, because they contradict each other. I suppose the only explanation would be a fairly powerful being that has being telling a lot of lies about its abilities and history, and has gone insane.
