Again, I cannot tell you how many times as a teen and young adult and even today living on a private street I have walked through yards without being shot.
In the context of this situation, this couple wasn't fearing that someone would harm them, they were pissed because sane people were protesting injustice and they were having their white privilege challenged.
This was merely a rich white couple fearing times changing.
