I'm fine with conceding that it was an insurrection. I'm not going to argue that like some might. You say it may not be remembered in 20 years, yet VP Harris invoked 9/11 and Pearl Harbor on the anniversary. I'm glad that we are at least on the same page that Jan 6 has been exaggerated by politicians for political reasons. You know how the saying goes, Helios. "Never let a crisis go to waste."

No were not on the same page. Not being Pearl harbor does not mean it's not a serious negative historic event that should be remembered. The only reason it won't be is that the right-wing media and its political wing will do all in their power to bury it. Just like if 9/11 and Pearl harbor had been carried out now by a group of Trumpists they would do the same. The only waste of this crisis is if we have no record of it at all.

So, basically, IA is part of the fucking problem by saying roughly, "C'mon, All that happened was the President asking a bunch of his followers to invade a government building so they can overturn the results of a free and fair election that didn't go the way they wanted. Just let it go."

As a man obsessed with the history of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust, there's a reason the phrase "never forget" became popular. And given that, unlike the Holocaust, the jackass who sent January 6 into motion is A) still alive, B) hell-bent on regaining power, and C) is somehow still popular enough that he's currently the frontrunner for the Republican party nomination, the phrase might actually be more important with January 6 now.
