I do not agree that MOST are. I do not wish to speak for Deist Paladin, but I am willing to bet that he and other Deists agree with me that most Christians display Deistic tendencies when really confronted about their beliefs. Homophobia and arrogance is something that ANYBODY can fall victim to, regardless of religious belief. I agree that Atheists tend to be drastically LESS homophobic than the god believers.

I was merely pointing out something that needs to be pointed out:
PICK AND CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTS
That work mate KNEW I was an atheist. Therefore the context is "He has already heard me declare my non-belief" a decade ago. I pick and choose my fight and prefer friendship with someone who is easy going and NOT fundy. Life is short. The less enemies you have, the better off you are. The more friends you have...well....do I need to explain it to you? As far as the "drivel that permeates every corner of society", I am only one man. Yes, I am open about my disbelief, but the more friends I have will mean the more COMRADES I will have when an UNCOOL Christian comes across my path.
Live and let live is the mantra of American society... regardless of what the Glenn Beck types have lead you to believe.

As much as I do sarcasm, this was not sarcasm. This was a very honest recounting of reality for me today. Perhaps you can blame it on me thinking that I am "Jeremy" instead of "Jeremy the atheist", but I cant help but confront reality like that. Would you prefer to work around "Bob", or "Bob the fundy Christian"? How about "Bob the ultra-orthodox right wing teabagging evangelical"? Do you think they want to work around "Jeremy the uber-absurdist progressive materialist"?
