RE: Theists: Why do you love God?

i believe in God b/c i find it more probable that we were created than to say we were the event of building blocks coming together to assemble themselves. i don't think buildings build themselves, nor do i think organisms.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Nobody knows for certain, but the major proportion who study the universe and say god does not exist. The only people left believing in god are either scared, uneducated who look no further then a chopped and changed book, or just wish thinkers like Deists.

Can you give a reason for a god's existance?

So in other words you are ignorant to science and do not understand laws of nature and the simplicity of it? You choose to go with something that is far more complicated. Do you also believe the universe to be 10000yrs old?
Ok then, how do you go from believing in a god, to becoming a protestant christian? Not a Hindu, Catholic, Muslim, Pagan etc. Why are they wrong and right?

no, there is no law of nature that states how order can be created from disorder.
5thHorseman Wrote:You choose to go with something that is far more complicated. Do you also believe the universe to be 10000yrs old?
no, it's not that i don't understand it, it's that it's so complicated it couldn't have just put itself together. does understanding how a car works allow you to come up with an explination on how it put itself together? and i believe the earth is around 6000 to 7000 years old. this is b/c i believe the literal creation story in the bible. there is no evidence to support a kind of animal changing to a different kind of animal. example: apes to humans, horses to giraffes.

Yes, but the question was why do you love him.

Complexity from simpliity is hard to understand but happens all the time.

Just because you dont know does not mean 'therefore god'
It is such a lazy answer that if beggars belief that people still cling to it these days.
'I dont know, lets find out', is a much better take on it and leads to the advancement of civilisation rather than the stagnation that you find in religious societies.

'i believe the literal creation story in the bible. there is no evidence to support a kind of animal changing to a different kind of animal. example: apes to humans, horses to giraffes.'
Do you see the irony? You believe literal biblical creation, which bears no evidence.
We have >98% similarity in DNA to Chimpanzees. Giraffes do not share common ancestor with horses, try deer.
Given the DNA similarities between these species, it is proof that we are related. You clearly do not understand evolution. If you have a Kindle, The Origin of The Species is available for free.
Where is there any reason to believe in the literal translation of the bible? Please do show any evidence you have for this.

similarities in work does not neccisarrily point to a common ancestor. designers always have a sort of signature to their work. similarities in their work simply mean the were made by the same person.

is that so? can they interbreed? it's funny how animals who breed that are too different create hybrids which have no reproductive capability. what can we conclude from this?

You've just demonstrated that you really don't understand it. Also you've just highlighted a point I made before. Those who argue most against evolution and the natural world know the least about it.
You do not understand evolution or the cosmos, and so you cannot comprehend it, so you opt for something you can comprehend....goddidit. Which requires no thought at all.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

and you must understand everything there is to know about life and the universe do you? i don't understand everything about physics and biology but neither does anyone else so don't pull that on me. science changes all the time so clearly humans don't understand it.

i answer your questions, you offer a rebuttal of ignorance and you still do not show evidence for your idea of creation, or why you are a protestant, why that is right and why the worlds other religions are wrong.
But to aid you in your education I will provide a 'to do' list so you may understand the subject a bit more.

That you really just do not get it.
'similarities in work does not neccisarrily point to a common ancestor. designers always have a sort of signature to their work. similarities in their work simply mean the were made by the same person.'
Oh brother. You're clutching at straws.
