Pro-Lifers are Hijacking the Superbowl Commercials

RE: Pro-Lifers are Hijacking the Superbowl Commercials
Meh. Commercials I don't agree with don't do anything for annoying me, how often have people seen a commercial and had that lightbulb "OH! I must change my ways" moment? Especially this crap:

Though this commercial, however, I think we can all support:

If there are Gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no Gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones - Marcus Aurelius~*~

Every time I see a priest I press my ass up against a wall to keep it safe until he's gone.

Whilst I don't agree with the contents of the ad, I don't see how this is "hijacking" the Superbowl Commercials. People are entitled to their opinion, and if the station allows it, to broadcast that opinion for a fee.

This is why I'm saying Pro-Choice people need to fucking speak up.

I feel like there's a raging activist inside me waiting to get out and all I'm going to end up doing is severely pissing off a lot of fundies.

Many things, but I'm talking them through with Ben.
Not with pissing off the fundies, mind - just the possible fall out from doing it. Some of them are fucking bitches.

The station normally wouldn't allow it, as the article says, but he is taking advantage of a rule that says they have to let him. Normally superbowl commercials are really lighthearted, so that's why I called it hijacking. Dead, bloody fetuses, surrounded by religious symbols is a far cry from the normal silliness that goes on during the superbowl, traditionally.

Aren't there standards as to the content that can be broadcast over the air? You don't see programming with such grotesque content during the day - why should commercials be any different?

I get that the law requires them to run political ads - and while an ordinary political ad might be annoying, it wouldn't be as highly offensive as the ads in question.

The guy pushing these ads is a grade A douchebag and I hope there's a huge backlash against him for pulling this stunt. What a dick.

I think there will be a backlash... even moderate Christians who are against abortion don't want their kids seeing that.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
