Honestly for me, my reaction is stronger to a burning book than it is to the burning of my nation's flag. This is the second thread that I've read here related to burning bibles or other books. I truly hope this is not something that anyone finds acceptable.

Talk about being melodramatic. It's fucking paper. Who honestly cares?

I could care less whether people burn these books. I personally find it completely pointless but if it's someone else's favourite pass time I couldn't give a fuck.

This is not censorship.

That's not exactly the worst thing the Nazis did, it feels like you're forgetting the actual bad stuff they did.

Well I truly hope you learn the difference between symbolism and violence, and there is a pretty big effing difference.

Of course I understand that burning books was not the worst of the Nazi's atrocities, and burning crosses is not the worst thing done by the Klan. When I see a group of people burning books, I think of the Nazis and when I see a group of people burning crosses,mi think of the Klan.

Of course I understand the difference between symbolism and violence.

You are entitled to your opinion and gut reactions to what you see as I am entitled to mine. When I see people burning books, my reaction is disgust.

Fair enough.
"Sisters, you know only the north; I have traveled in the south lands. There are churches there, believe me, that cut their children too, as the people of Bolvangar did--not in the same way, but just as horribly. They cut their sexual organs, yes, both boys and girls; they cut them with knives so that they shan't feel. That is what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling. So if a war comes, and the Church is on one side of it, we must be on the other, no matter what strange allies we find ourselves bound to."

Just leave the Libraries and Book Stores alone and you can burn all the books YOU OWN!!

Hey guys, i found this video on youtube. Its a group of atheists burning multiple religious texts which includes the bible, koran, torah, wicca, tripitaka, dianetics etc.

What is your opinion on this? Feedback would be appreciated

Well, that's quite a feat, burning a couple of books that they payed for.
That's my opinion.
