Here's the basic thing: a lot of bills that pass through legislature (from city to federal levels) are just resolutions that have no real legal standing, like this but are merely P.R. of one entity to another. This "Year of the Bible" resolution seems to be one of them. It's very common for this sort of thing to go through the legislature without being read, and it's common for legislators to rubber-stamp things like this in the hopes that someday, they'll return the favor by voting on a bill of consequence.
Look at the consequences of one example: The Texas legislature commemorates the (alleged) Boston Strangler
Comparing the Universal Oneness of All Life to Yo Mama since 2010.

Yeah, the resolutions look and read like shit, but they dont mean much if anything at all....basically all this bill says to me is
"Us rich folk are going to fuck you even more...so get ready for it by putting your faith in a better life after you die."
It also suggests that the proponents are running for re-election and are trying to impress the assholes in their districts with their piety.

Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
So much for the seperation of church and state.

True but you would think the elected officials in the PA house of representatives would be somewhat familiar with the constitution they have sworn to uphold.
Why?
You don't get the brightest of the bright in any state legislature. |
