This may be important, but something tells me that promoting this thread by interrupting six threads is just bad form.

Indeed. One thread is enough and irrelevant posts about this thread in other threads is considered bad form. Thanks.

Have you actually bothered to read their new privacy agreement? It changes hardly anything; one might argue it actually makes things easier to understand, because instead of agreeing to an individual statement for each Google service you use (under the same account I might add), you only agree to one.
Sure, you could switch to an entirely new search engine, or instead you could simply opt to not use a Google account. Don't sign in, and you can use Google without them tracking anything other than your IP (the logs of which they destroy after 9 months I believe).

I really want to know how badly it invades my privacy if they log my IP? Lots of websites already do that. Or maybe I'm just not understanding the situation.

Right?! I had a debate with some facebook idiot yesterday that ended with him being clearly wrong, which was demonstrated fully, and claiming he would have to agree to disagree because "I was taking it personally." Typical fucking excuse. I didn't say shit except "You're wrong, read link." Pussies. He was crying that some law had been passed that pissed him off. No law was passed. He misinterpreted a fucking headline like all the other sheeple.

I encounter too many morons like that. Enough, in fact, to make me climb a mountain and become a hermit simply to avoid them.
