What would you call this?

RE: What would you call this?
It's okay to question. That's what I did before I landed at Atheist. My best friend died, then i began looking in academic sources for any sign that God existed, there was no evidence, so i was forced to conclude No God.

That's because you are secure in holding your own counsel and are not afraid to drawing your own conclusions. As opposed to those who are so insecure about themselves and their faculties that they grab onto any nonsense that any asshole debits.

"I base everything I know on cold hard facts"

So.......

"My belief are that if there is a being or deity or force in the universe it is balanced and fair and breath life in to all things and creatures(even that not of this world) and is part of us and maybe starts the chain of events that allows us to evolve?"

As long as you can separate the two, some sort of deism. If you look hard enough, there's a religion that caters, I'm sure. If you ever run into some cold hard facts about this being or deity or force you be sure to let someone know eh?

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Can I take it English is not your first language?
"Sisters, you know only the north; I have traveled in the south lands. There are churches there, believe me, that cut their children too, as the people of Bolvangar did--not in the same way, but just as horribly. They cut their sexual organs, yes, both boys and girls; they cut them with knives so that they shan't feel. That is what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling. So if a war comes, and the Church is on one side of it, we must be on the other, no matter what strange allies we find ourselves bound to."

#1 - it would not be balanced or fair, because there is nothing fair or balanced in the cosmos. That vast MAJORITY of which is cold dark dead space with less than 1% of it actually being something other, and even less than that supporting life. When life is around it is in constant danger of being food and almost more than 90% of the species that have existed on this planet alone are long gone extinct.

That is about as fair and balanced as Fox news

#2 - If it is part of us then we are all gods. Imagine that, the dinosaurs all had a part of God when they went extinct.

What do i think of it?

I think its delusion meant to make people feel good about themselves in a cold, thoughtless and uncaring universe. People who believe this have made the mistake of attaching human ideals to an inhuman cosmos.

It is a gross, demonstrable error.

If you turned your 'believe' in 24 hours how long do you expect it to stay 'correct'?

First and for most, I am British born and raised and English is my only language, thought I can not spell (I might have dyslexia but never had it tested), and I do get spells of were my believes change for a period of time, but normally come full circle. And is my hope that the universe in not a cold and desolate place, which of course it is.

RE: What would you call this?
I think the OP was just going through some of the "I don't believe in God but I'm afraid to totally give up the idea of a magical sky fairy controlling the universe" crap that a lot of people go through, usually due to Christian brainwashing. I really hate what religion has done to our planet.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
