Actually beliefs can affect your actions.
As the quote goes, faith can make good people do evil things. You can do evil things despite having only good intentions if your perspective is wrong -- and religion certainly offers all the wrong perspectives.

Why is that so hard to process? :/
Beliefs don't change much of your personality?
Poppycock. I disagree wholeheartedly. Why?
Because the way we live our life is based on our beliefs, and the experiences we have in life are a large determining factor for our personality (in addition to the effects of genetics).
I disagree.
Your personality leaves you susceptible to following certain beliefs. Thus, it also influences how you respond to that belief.
I'm affriad I agree with the other guy.
I don't hate religion. Only it's followers who use it as an excuse to conduct wars and crime.
I'm always open minded, I would listen to religious claims IF they have something relevant to show me. it's not ignorance, it's not arrogant. It's dismissal.
Logical, Reasonable and senseable conclusion. Me being an atheist does not affect my personality. I came to the conclusion of there being no god because there's no reason to believe such a thing. Nothing supports their claims and so I stand on the opposite side.
People say, well you can't disprove it. This has nothing to do with being an atheist or my personality. Atheists are not responcible for disproval.
Atheists reject religious claims and this does not affect personality.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Let it be said that personality, beliefs, and experiences are all interelated and inseparable. They grow on each other, affect each other, and develop intricate interelations.
That being said, I think it's reasonable to make judgements on character based on what somebody believes, and on their position on religiosity, and even - on what experiences they have had in life and how they have reacted to those experiences.
That doesn't mean that the judgements we arrive at are 100% correct, it also doesn't mean that the judgements are necessarily negative ones, but I think the best tool we have for assessing another persons personality are perhaps those factors I listed above.
I agree with you Spashie that there are other ways of judging people than on their religion alone, but I still think there are certain things we most definitely can judge a person on going by their religion alone.
I take a gestalt approach to understanding a person, but believe that some types of behaviour can only be traced back towards one or two types of beliefs.
