The atheistforums.org beer thread.

RE: The atheistforums.org beer thread.
I don't really drink beer that often, but, after writing a story about a Trappist brewery, I decided to buy two bottles of Rochefort 6 [which RationalWiki seems to believe is the best beer on the market] at Whole Foods ($6 for an 11 oz. bottle). Only this Sunday, after over a month in the fridge, did I bother to actually drink it. I took a shot's worth. It looked amazing, and by the time I put it in my mouth, it gave a lot of contradictory feelings. I hated to taste it in my mouth, but by the time I got it down, I loved the aftertaste. I can't expect to become a regular drinker, but I have no real complaints about it.

You shut your whore mouth.

Yanking your chain, dude. Stella is high quality stuff, as far as the style goes. Just not my thing.

Rochefort is some advanced stuff. Big Grin A lot of Trappist / Abbey ales are an acquired taste.

Just tried a Fosters for the first time today. Tastes just like Budweiser, not impressed.
Good enough alcohol content though :p

I think the Aussies are so unimpressed with Fosters that the send it all to us.

In the high alcohol department, I'll take a Scottish strong ale or Belgian Tripel. 8-9% ABV goes straight to my head. Big Grin

Just so you know, no-one in Australia drinks it.

We're more likely to be drinking Heinekein or Stella Artois etc.

Considering that I don't really drink alcohol, this is probably the most positive I've felt about drinking alcohol in my life.

BLASPHEMER,

Ok, but try a frosted mug with half Yingling and half Fosters. You might like it, even if just for the extra kick the Yingling gives you.

Isn't "Fosters" Australian for "piss"?
