Why did God make atheists?
February 29, 2012 at 12:16 pm
If God made everything, including me, then he also made my mind and how I think
Why would he make me this way, why make me so I cannot believe?
And if the purpose of life is to get into heaven, but the price of entry is absolute fealty that I cannot give - Why not just make us all believers?
What divine purpose does it serve? I've heard he works in mysterious ways but it just seems a bit retarded to make something imperfectly and then punish it for its imperfection

We're a test for the faithful, judging from the attitudes of some of our theist visitors.

We're the "objects of wrath" for judgment day according to one passage in scripture (I forget where exactly). Yahweh's sadistic glee must be sated by someone so it might as well be us.

The Quran view is that humanity is inclined towards God and has been given knowledge of him, and that God's light is in the soul. The thing with disbelievers, is that they are "covering" the light of God. This is not only for those whom disbelieve in God, but disbelieve in Islam, since that is suppose to be the divine light as well. The disbelievers have become deaf and blind to the truth and wisdom, because of their own unjust will.
The Bible view is that the holy spirit will make you know of God and Jesus, and the reason why people don't believe in Jesus, is because their hearts love the darkness over the light. Naturally all those whom love the light over the darkness will be lead towards salvation by the holy spirit.
In both cases - it's due to "evil" will of the soul. They don't believe this will is forced upon them.

You just made that fucker up, didn't you?
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

Because free will.
That's all the answers you'll get from theists which is extraordinarily silly.
He actually made us atheists, just to have more people down there eternally being tortured and left in excruciating pain simply because we used the god given ability to think.
Fun guy this god,ain't he?

No I'm not, as for the Bible view, there is a verse "because men loved darkness over the light" as the reason people didn't believe in Jesus. The talk about the holy spirit making you know God and Jesus is in the bible as well. I heard it from William Lane Craig as well.
As for Quran's view, it's obvious when reading Quran. There is a lot of talk about darkness and light in there, blindness and sight, and it's due to either good will or bad will.

The Quran argues the opposite, one of the reasons people go to hell according to Quran is lack of thinking. There is a verse that people in hell will say " Had we but pondered or listened, we would not be inmates of the fire".
The disbelievers are said to be "dumb, deaf and blind"
