Young-earth creationist Kent Hovind's doctoral dissertation

RE: Young-earth creationist Kent Hovind's doctoral dissertation
I remember trying to read it when it first leaked out. It took me quite a while but I managed to wade through it. A more turgid, childish document I've never encountered before, nor hopefully since. Apparently there's a lot more problems with it being supposedly a doctoral dissertation than just the content as well. For a start, the fact that it was vomited out of a dot matrix printer which apparently is not the done thing, even for the time it was written. Plus its single illustration is totally out of place and just taped onto the page. Then there's the fact that once a dissertation is submitted, it becomes a finished and bound document which is then added to the relevant library. A person can do further research into the topic but the dissertation itself remains untouched. Also, the work must be original and must add to the body of knowledge. Hovind's... thing... does none of the above, which is a huge slap in the face for anyone who actually worked their bits off to earn a legitimate PhD.

It would make for a good drinking game though.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Apparently there are several chapters missing, like the one about cave men (who, writing a serious paper on evolution would even use the term "cave men" as opposed to using the actual scientific terms such as Neanderthal?) and others. Maybe he just got tired of writing his blather and felt that was good enough for the lax requirements of Patriot University?

Absolutely, I'd forgotten that. It promises something like sixteen chapters and throws up, what, ten? Something like that. I do have the pdf of the actual 'document' plus another version of it that's been ocr corrected, straightening the pages etc.

Ah - found it. This is an in-depth analysis (emphasis on the anal) of the thing which up until the thesis itself was leaked was the only known time it was ever allowed to be seen by anyone outside Hovind's personal circle - which has probably widened considerably since his imprisonment. Anyway, it's amusing to compare and contrast the two.

All these preacher type fucks have that stupid smile.

I'm surprised it wasn't written in crayon.

Probably they didn't trust him with anything even remotely pointy. Either that or he'd already shoved them up his nose or something.

I try my best. Then when I've got my breath back I try again.

I wonder if one of the missing chapters was how to avoid paying taxes?
