The bottom line, if for once we take off the veil of God and see things for what they are, we see that the Abrahamic religions are King religions, God made in the image of a king. Take all the rules passed down by the church and you see that they mirror the orders of a king. In the olden days, when men were brought before the King, they fell to their knees and shook with fear, for this man was judge and jury. He made rules and gave commands. In those days most kings were men, so god had to be a man. The dead give-away is when a King rewarded loyalty and threatened the disloyal ones - after all, for a King his most important possession is his throne. You could be the nicest guy but if you speak against the king, the king would either have you killed or thrown out of the kingdom. Abrahamic heavens are run the same way - there is no room for disloyal people. No room for a Gandhi or Einstein! Mother Teresa turned away from muslim heaven. Threats issued to keep you in line, like a cult. You are but a slave, servant or subject under the king, obey his orders or else!

Hi Jayp,
No argument there, I think you make a good point. It is quite customary to introduce yourself first though. But welcome to the forum anyway.

Hmm interesting...although I thought when Christianity started (to use an example religion) it was EMPERORS not Kings that were the leaders? Roman emperors for example?
Although I guess even so there isn't really much of a practical difference? Unless I got my times wrong? Oh, and welcome to the forums!! EvF
Christianity is the slaves religion. It takes the side of the underdog. that's why it's popular today.
uh oh frodo be careful...I see you now have 666 posts
Very good point Jayp. I've thought about this myself as well. Welcome to the forums!

I tend to think of it as Tribal Chieftains and just one more clue as to why the essential biblical claims have no real relevance today but yeah well said.

I am sorry but this is like seeing the trees and missing the forest. I used the word King, but basically I am could have said a Ruler, Emperor, Chieftain, General, Despot etc. The idea is the lack of democracy, this man's ruling must be followed. People call themselves God's soldiers, another word for slave or subject. Soldiers must obey orders, never question them. This is why terrorism arises out of muslim lands - they are following their king's orders for which they think they will be rewarded.
Try to see the broad picture, please don't get lost in the details. I thought you meant specifically kings - especially because you referring to like Christian times etc when I thought it was more emperors. And @ Leo - yes the places Emperors rule could still be called kingdoms. But I have heard the leaders THEMSELVES in ancient Rome be called 'Kings'. I just mean that I never hear of ancient Roman Kings or any sort of Christian 'Kings' around at that time...they may have had KingDOMS but I've never heard them be referred to as 'Kings' - it always seems to be emperors? If there WERE Roman KINGS around and Christian KINGS at the time (or called as such I mean anyway) - then that's news to me! They always were called emperors to my knowledge. Emperors rule many kingdoms maybe or one 'Empire' BUT - I've not heard of Ancient Roman 'Kings' - maybe they are less well known? Maybe I'm wrong? Were there, for instance; ancient Roman KINGS as opposed to emperors? Maybe they just get less attention cos they have less power than an empeor so that's why I've never heard of it LOL.
