Seen it before, it's total bollocks. So, where's this proof? Still waiting.
You wanna learn about logic, here you go - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic

Man made philosophical concept. Not proof of the existence of a supreme being. Try again.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Ace - it goes even further than that. Not only do we have an absence of evidence suggesting that the flood happened, we have an abundance of evidence that suggests it could not have happened as and when claimed. We have a record of many civilizations that exist(ed) prior to and after the time period the flood mythers claim. Not to mention the geologic evidence against.

So if any of you simpleton mythers reall want to try to refute mountains of empirical evidence to sustain your belief in ancient mythology and superstition, knock yourselves out.

It never happened. We've known this for hundreds of years. Get over it.

I find it curious that God chose to use the measurement unit 'Cubit' which, if I remember correctly, was the length of the distance between a man's elbow and fingers. This unit wasn't standardised and varied from region to region (and forearm to forearm, one would expect!). It's curious to me that this unchanging deity whose commands are absolute would use such an ambiguous method of measurement.

"NOAH," said God. "NOAH, BUILD A BOAT OF ... about this long. I'll give you some wiggle room."

I mean, he went to all the trouble of imparting his boat schematics to Noah, but then let him use a shitty measurement system to build it? Sure, it probably wouldn't have hindered or help Noah, but why not impart the metric system to his favourite guy?

(March 15, 2012 at 4:59 pm)Saved Wrote: I agree that the great flood and Noah's ark is impossible. Impossible now for humans to do with science. But back then God was far more involved directly in the world and all he has to do is impose his will and it happens.

Just imagine that the world is a really complicated video game and we are all normal players who can do some things and not do others. If the creator of that game wanted to do something that the game would not allow all he has to do is change the game a bit to make it possible and then change it back after.

How difficult is that for you (supposed intelligent) atheists to understand? Isn't it funny that you believe impossible things like evolution and the big bang but you can't accept a true story written down by people who were actually there?

Think about it.

God bless

Yeah, I had my most creative period in kindergarten with crayons, and paint, and colored paper, and glue, and best of all: clay! YAY!
And I always ended up with a mess too.

Never heard of the Sorcerer's Apprentice, I guess.

Your God clearly can't handle the responsibility of His actions.

Your God the Father is actually nothing more than a DDD, a Divine Deadbeat Dad. Loathsome and despicable.
And only wayward mothers are worse than that.

Let's give the Christians the benefit of the doubt and remove Fish (31,300), Crustaceans (47,000), Corals (2,175) and Algae (13,201). Let's also condense the insects down to say, 25,000 from 1,000,000 for space sake. This lowers to number of species to a paltry 631,324. Double that and you have 1,262,648 animals. Each animal requires it's own space and it's own food to survive for 40 days and 40 nights. Some animals are much larger then others and some are much smaller. To reach an easy medium of space needed, let's say that all these animals need approximately the space and food a human would need. A human could survive for a little over a month in say, a 6x4' (24sq ft) room or so. Using this logic, the Ark would have needed to be 30,303,552sq feet just to store the animals. That's 1.08699sq miles. This is before you take in to account the amount of food and fresh water needed to sustain all these animals. Now obviously the boat would have been boat shaped and not a square. If you just take the 6 foot rooms needed and multiply it by the number of species you end up with a ship that is 1434 miles long, almost half the distance across the United States...
Am I right in saying you gave 25,000 pairs of insects 24sq feet each? The number I've heard *total* is 16,000. There are less than 16,000 mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Some amphibians can live for long periods in the water, and birds can rest on the roof. The space would be enough for that many, assuming they were juveniles. Spider eggs and worms are very small. Any insects that need to be out of the weather would be fine sharing with larger animals. We're assuming God created a certain peace on the ark, the way He shut the lions' mouths for Daniel. Do you know what the other ~500,000 species are?

Actually,it's a LOT more:

Quote:Genesis 7:2-3
You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female; also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.

So far,no young earth loon has ever explained how Australian animals managed to reach the ark. Not to mention all the animals from say the Amazon basin and the entire continent of North America .Thinking0

Plus,so far,I've never met young earth apologist with the the intellectual honesty, courage or integrity even seriously consider to the Noah flood myth was lifted from the Epic of Gilgamesh.
