Quote:Do you honestly think that Christian charities are the only charitable organizations that has had problems with their stewards? Do you think that only Christians give to charities who do not do what they promise to do? No...but those other charities aren't putting on their white robes and fucking halos and claiming to do it for "god." Besides, there is a lot less oversight on religious frauds.
They have some skillzzzz when it comes to making money.

Seriously, one would have to be pretty fucking gullible to fall for the prosperity doctrine con.

True Christians know that they don't. The only difference between us and you, is the fact that we all have chosen to Live with God for eternity. Everything else sin, pride, shame, foolish behavior matches you guys stroke for stroke. It like if God's standard for righteousness is measured by the distance between a dock in NY and one in London. Our morality is represented by the distance we travel if we decided to jump from the one dock in NY to the corresponding dock in London. The unbeliever does a standing long jump, and falls a few feet past the dock in the water. Say The Best Christian History has every known, under his own steam makes a running leap and he lands just a few feet past the other guy who made the standing long jump. Neither one bridged the gap to even be close to cover the distance between NY and London. So how Does the Christian make it to London and the non believer does not? God sends a boat, and the believers get on. That's it. nothing special about getting aboard a ship when offered the opportunity. Especially when the trip is offered to everyone. Since they don't think/act as you do, they must not be Real Christians . Every atheist forum I have ever been a member of is littered with threads started by believers who tell atheists that we couldn't possibly be moral people because we are atheists. You may not be one of them, but there are more than enough of them out there - unless you have been appointed as the arbitrator of who is and is not a christian.(March 25, 2012 at 12:55 pm)Sciwoman Wrote: It wouldn't be such an issue if christians didn't keep claiming that they lived on some higher moral plane than the rest of us. Religion is not the answer-it is the problem. Everything considered, we would be better off without it.~Baubles of Blasphemy~Edwin F. Kagin

You really believe that shit?
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.
The real tragedy here is that so many Christians can't tell when they are obviously being conned.
On a related note, I am starting a church to spread the Good Word. God says you will receive back everything you donate ten-fold. Please make your checks out to Shyster Ministries. I promise you this is legit.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
