In Australia,atheism is not a big deal,except for the religious fanatics who insists on wearing their religion on their sleeves.Most sane people avoid them.
If asked I say "I'm an Agnostic atheist". If asked to explain I then say "I do not believe in god(s) due to the lack of credible evidence." I do not argue with apologists. I would say extremely open when I can be. But sometimes I need to bite my lip, I mostly don't like to bring it up at work but if it does come up I would have no problem saying i'm an atheist. I am proud to be an atheist!
Still not aloud to tell my grandmother though...

If someone seriously wants to know what i believe i will look em straight in the eyes and tell them. otherwise best to keep your mouth shut. what is the point getting in a fight over something as stupid as religion?
If someone asks i tell them,if there's a religious discussion i openly express my anti-theistic views.
