RE: Why THERE is so many denominations
The right answer to the OP is

people are people.... all 7 billion of them

IF YOU NEED to demand an answer you are not of sufficient evolution to receive it! Tongue

Not from me. Maybe you should be wondering if they understand what their religion is saying though? It worries me that we're getting taught the Word by someone that doesn't realise saying 'the Gospels of the good news' is the same as saying 'the good news of the good news'. Doesn't that worry you?

What was the OP's question?

Not at all. Because when the gospel is mentioned in that context it is not the definition of the term being discussed but the message of the good news itself.

Even you, and if so, why should we listen to you if you have it wrong?
Even me.

Again you shouldn't. How many times does it need to be said? The only people who should be responding to my posts are those who seek a relatively quick biblical understanding of God.

I'd venture to say that most everyone here has a more than basic understanding of the biblical god character. 'Tis one of the reasons many of us are atheists in the first place.

absolutely! Because that verse tells us that God is not the god many have created for themselves. So they should endeavor to seek out the God who has His people smash babies against stones, and perhaps seek the reason such a thing was done.

Quote:They haven't got it wrong, in face, think of all the grace abound when they praise and worship to the limits of their understanding and ability to do so.
That what "Grace" is. It is forgiveness. Why would anyone need forgiveness if they have not gotten anything wrong?

Quote:At what point will God get annoyed at the misinterpretation of the bible? 2 babies? 10 babies? 100 babies? All the babies?
There is a parable that out lines God's limits with you, do you want to read it?

Quote:Curious world view.. Basically as long as you are using the bible as justification, you are never wrong,
That is not what has been said. See the paragraph above.

Quote: because you tried your best within the "limits of our understanding and ability", no matter what atrocities you justify with it.
.. and the meaty conclusion to your straw man.

Quote:The OT is written in Hebrew.

We've been through this before. The earliest ancient texts we have of the fucking OT is written in Greek.

Let that bounce around inside your empty skull for a while and consider the implications!

That, Paul, and how obvious that it's JUST another book, a poorly written and contradictory one at that.

...So You do not believe in God because you do not understand or agree with Him??

How does your personal philosophy dictate belief? If you did not believe in snow would it also cease to fall? Or are you saying your disbelief is a hold out effort to force God to meet you on your terms?

I honestly want to know.

Wtf, Paul doesn't believe in god for this reason. THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE IN ANY GOD, especially your franchise of one. Understanding 'god' based on a twice translated bronze age book? Get outta here, you kidding me?

Everything you say implies that god is real, but you have no evidence, it's just wish thinking.

Aside from the dead sea scrolls the oldest texts we have were written about 9th century AD. However with the discovery of the dead sea scrolls we have the whole OT except for the book of Ester Nehemiah were written in Hebrew.

How old are the scrolls? Between 408 and 44 BCE.
