Rather amusing.

A woman has been arrested after a shop dummy was entered as a candidate for the council elections in Aberdeen.

The mannequin - which it understood to have been seized by police - originally appeared on the list of potential councillors for the Hazlehead, Ashley and Queens Cross ward.

Grampian Police said a woman, 63, has been charged under the Representation of the People Act.

The dummy was entered under the name Helena Torry.

"We shall never know now what Ms Torry might have achieved in public life, but the initials signs were promising. “I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views,” wrote a relatively unknown senator from Illinois seven years ago. He might just win a second term in the White House at the end of the year."

Under what part of the Representation of the People Act is it an offence to enter a mannequin for election?

Something they can be thrown out for and ridiculed for, yes, but hardly charged for.
