why worship god?

Isn't it plain simple to understand that the Creator who created us atleast deserves some form of reverence?

First...you would have to demonstrate some evidence that this hallucination of yours is real. You cannot do that. Which leaves us with "religion" (as opposed to 'god.') Religion threatens anyone who fails to worship ( such worship usually involving money to the fucking priests who did the inventing!) with some variant of hell in the future and a whole shitload of trouble in the present. Religion, simply, is the most successful con game of all time. Worship is not for God's benefit; it is for us so that we may grow in faith. Bullshit. I'd elaborate, but you just make it up as you go, so I won't waste our time. If we assume for a moment that god does exist, why would we be obliged to worship him/her/it? After all, that something was created by something implies no logical reason for worship, If i created the whole being of another human I would not necessarily need to be worshiped for this as I clearly had my own intentions for doing so. Why not? If God wants you to worship him, you are ought to oblige him. Üze Tengri basmasar, asra Yir telinmeser, Türük bodun ilingin törüngin kim artatı udaçı erti? Hypothetically if God exists, then yes you have to worship it. Otherwise it's eternal suffering for you because the book says so. I've never understood people that say 'if your god existed I wouldn't worship it anyways'. It's as if their cause is of the most noble kind. What they don't realise is that if god X exists then holy book X is the absolute truth. So why not just go with it.. As silly as reality might seem from then on. I think the argument being made here is that even if your god exists, your holy book is still complete bollocks - a piece of propagandist fiction published by your god for self-glorification and thus, I would still continue to use my common sense to judge things like truth and morality.
You worship god and believe in god because someone tells you to. And you do it the way thy tell you, when they tell you God never told you anything, so other people come and explain to you that they understand god and you should listen to what they have to say.
That's why. |
