RE: Nimrod & Religion

Nimrod was the great hunter. He is not historical at all but a cosmic myth based upon the constellation of Orion (the great hunter). The Jews called the constellation of Orion "Gibbor" which they considered Nimrod. (Richard Hinckley Allen, "Star Names Their Lore and Meaning" Pg. 309.)
The Tower of Babel (Ursa Major) story has a problem with the origin of languages in that it contradicts not only what we know to be historical, it also contracdicts the previous chapter in Genesis which claims the families of the sons of Noah were divided according to their tongues. The languages were already established prior to chapter 11 and the story of the Tower.
The Hebrews were moon god worshippers. YHWH was a moon god. Their calendar is lunar. The god of Abraham of Ur and Haran would have been Sin, the moon god. The calendar aspects of Hebrew holidays with respect to the constellations indicate their god was lunar. Christianity, on the other hand, is solar. Jesus (halo, 12 apostles, virgin born) is a sun god. The constellations that correspond to Christian traditional holidays are 180 degrees out. They are the constellations seen just before sunrise. Hence the constellations associated with Easter are those of Libra or our traditional autumn equinox which includes the Southern Cross. The Hebrew's Passover (same calendar time as Easter) is associated with spring constellations such as Aries, the lamb of God hence they are lunar.
