I still don't understand how someone can have so much hatred and fear for something so benign.. 
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. I think the most outspoken anti-gay activists feel their own sexuality being threatend, at least on a subconscious level. In other words, if they see people being open about homosexuality, they are afraid that they might start getting aroused.

You have to keep in mind that from these people's perspective, it's not really hate. They think an all-powerful being who created everything finds homosexuality sinful, and in so far as they wish to respect the commands and desires of said being, they must fight homosexuality and never give in to legitimatizing it. From their outlook, homosexuality is one of many severe sins along with murder, adultery, stealing etc. They don't view it all in the same way that we view for instance issues of race or gender. Homosexuality under their outlook is a conscious willful act. They can't accept any sort of genetic or environmental explanation for homosexuality because that would mean the Bible condemns an activity that can't be helped. Homosexuals to them are willful deviants little different than murderers.

It is this mentality, Tegh, that bothers me so much. The horrible illusion of righteousness. They lose all sense and decency in dogma and inflict so much pain upon people, who haven't deserved such treatment. (I'm not claiming that all gays are good, but I think you get the gist of it.)

The point is judging people on their behaviors and now their sexuality. Hating on people just because their gay and as stupid as hating on someone because they don't believe in a god.

You know, I heard what this guy was suggesting and I couldn't see any problem with that. Homosexuals obviously make him uncomfortable and the lengths he is willing to go and the sacrifices he is willing to make for them are simply astounding.
Let's seem first of all, he is willing to give all homosexuals their own country. He is willing to sequester off an area where the current government would have no power, effectively allowing them to create their own government and economy.
Furthermore, he is willing to give them a continuous and endless supply of food, despite the fact that once these homosexuals settle in, they may very well be able to produce their own food and not need any outside assistance. And this assistance is being provided for by all the hard-working, tax-paying citizens of the country.
What's more, I see no restriction towards gays and lesbians having sex for purely procreational purposes, so I guess they'd be able to maintain their population as well. Any straight children born there would obviously not be allowed back in the straight society - being the product of sinful union and all - and this new society would have a constant influx of gays and lesbians being born in the outside society.
Its not such a bad deal, people. Gays should stop hating on this guy and start drawing up contracts. I'd start with asking for California as the starter territory.

Can you imagine the outcry if David Silverman said this, but replaced slang terms for homosexuals with "Christians"?
