Lonely creator gods, requiring love and praise aren't really egotistic, they're just sad.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
Now all you need to do is provide evidence that two such beings actually existed.

By this time the greeks had established that gods where embellished ancestor stories. Being well versed in greek, blah blah blah.
The authors of your fairy tales didn't believe that either, so why should they believe in a spherical earth? Sounds like bullshit pagan blasphemy to me.
