The church of scientology called me

The church of scientology called me
I watched a documentary last night on scientology. Well, it was more like an exposé. I got curious about my town and if there was a church of scientology, and sure enough, there is a huge one called "The Celebrity Center".

I took the long ass personality test just to see what kind of questions were on it. Let me tell ya, there was some crazy questions.

http://www.oca.scientology.org/

They just called me and told me I could pick up the results tomorrow at 3pm. Should I go get them? Of course I don't put stock into anything concerning scientology, I'm just curious. I am a little afraid to go by myself. They said they follow you to the bathroom and everything to make sure you don't leave, and then try to convince you you're full of evil alien beings and only they can save you... for a price.

Everything you ever wanted to know about $cientology (and everything you didn't):

Also there's a YouTube user named ToryMagoo44 who was involved with the Co$ for many years before she 'crossed the floor' and got herself marked as an SP (Suppressive Person, essentially blacklisted as evil) - the notification letter she's had laminated and displays it with pride. She now makes videos exposing the inner secrets of the church and encourages others to leave as well.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

They're more persistent than time share salespeople. If you do go, be strong! Big Grin

I'm drunk, forgive me.

If they get too persistent, go to the bathroom and go number 2. I would think they'd leave you be after that, lol!

Or just go number two right there in the room (pants optional). I guarantee they'll leave you alone after that little lot.

RE: The church of scientology called me

Me and a group of atheists toured the local Scientology church this past winter. I noticed they had a camera on our group when we came in, but not after that. Our organizer told me later (much later) that wherever we went, they had cameras just in sight, recording everything we did. I suppose if I'd known at the time, I might have been a bit peeved, but I didn't, so I wasn't. Other than that, they were pretty nice. However they didn't allow any photographs, except for a few taken by the organizer, and when I started grilling the lower level Scientologist demonstrating the e-meter, they cut it short and asked us to hold our questions until the question and answer session. Which was fine; here I was giving this Scientology noob the third degree, and I suppose it was a little unfair. Of course, any hard question and they just give you the run around. I stayed after to ask questions about their scholastic/educational technology and programs, so they were pretty open. Another group from our group asked them why, if they don't discriminate against homosexuals, the CoS supported prop 8 banning gay marriage in California. They just went in circles. I'm sure it was fun to watch, but I wasn't there. I've still got a bunch of their literature and DVDs in a pile here, but haven't gotten to them. They were very nice, and the materials were all slick and well produced, but the one thing we noticed more than anything else was how empty the church was. They had a study center the size of a major library, and the whole wall was a window, so you could see that there were only 4-5 people in there.

My brother is morman. Despite our difference of opinion regarding religion, we enjoy a very health relationship.

He once called me and ignored protocol by skipping familiar introductions to conversation and immediately asked if I thought scientology and mormonism were both cults. I answered 'yes'. A heavy silence ensued for about thirty seconds. I let him off the hook a little by telling him 'despite being a known charlatan, at least Joseph Smith isn't directly quoted as saying an easy way to get rich is by starting a religion'.

I'm moved to come out to you also. I also have a Mormon brother. I assume yours also converted as an adult. Congratulations on maintaining a good relationship. I can't stand mine for very long but then he is also a rabid Republican

If you're going to visit a scientology center, be prepared for a lot of bullshit. They are overly nice for a reason.
