So, I correctly stated that you made assumptions about me? I am not an addict to anything (besides chocolate), I'm very careful about that.

Can YOU still be a firm atheist after watching these?

I guess you are strong and will never let yourself be addicted. Lost track how many times I heard that one.
Hmmm, I smell condescension.
Not that it is the norm, but I've tried plenty of drugs without becoming addicted to a single one of them. Even if everyone who used drugs became addicted, it wouldn't be a reason for strangers on the internet to "worry" about them or lecture them. Just my opinion. There is a difference between trying and using more than once or twice Shell.
You are right about the worrying, its silly, I already admitted it Hmmm, I've heard people call alot of things to my empathy towards other human beings, but never condescention lol
I agree Shell!
Personally I like a fair percentage of the drugs out there because I think they're just a bit of fun if not done to harmful excess "Minds are like parachutes - they both work best when open." My favourite pro-atheism video - [amoff]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQJrud71gL8[/amoff]

I don't even drink alcohol or smoke anything. I've taken opiates (usually codiene) occasionally for over 8 years now. I think if I were going to become addicted it would have happened years ago. You need to take something regularly for an addiction to form.
As long as you can keep it safe no worries then
I did more than just use them once or twice. I used E every weekend for months. It was fun, then I didn't want to do it anymore. I smoked pot for more than ten years. I also did mushrooms and dropped acid quite a few times. I never became addicted to any of them. When my doctor said smoking pot was exacerbating my heart problems, I stopped immediately and never did it again. I also stopped drinking alcohol and caffeine. Everyone's different.
I don't think empathy means what you think it does. Feeling for someone who is hurting is empathy. Deciding that someone who is having fun is doing the wrong thing with no evidence that it is harming them or anyone else is not. That's called something else.
I'd just like to say that none of the drugs you mentioned (with the exception of alcohol and caffeine) are particularly addictive.
Let us not forget that dependance is often as strong as addiction. True, we should make the distinction between the two; however, purely for the purpose of research, diagnoses and treatment. I managed to escape addiction/dependence from all drugs except alcohol and nicotine; both of which I overindulge in to this very day.
