You are rightly frustrated. You feel cheated and lied to by your parents. Empty promises, maybe even Hell fire scares, all to find out it was a lie... It is hard for others, even atheists, to understand where you are coming from when many did not grow up in such an extreme sect of Christianity. I empathize with you.
