Update On My Sister's Family (The Fire)

Update On My Sister's Family (The Fire)
My sister had a devastating fire in home nearly a year ago. A lot of you probably remember me talking about it and were very supportive as I tried to help them get back on their feet and worried about the kids. As several of you know, they lost a cat, but despite my sister, her mother-in-law and her children being in the house at the time of the fire, they and the other animals got out safe. The dog, thanks to the help of a stranger that no one ever found. He just helped the dog out of the window and left.

Anyway, long story short, after a year of construction, they are back in their home. I went to see it today and it was really a weight off of everyone's chests. The garage still needs building, but they are in a solid, stable home again and that is what matters. So, thank you to everyone who was my friend through all of that. The housewarming party is next month. I will try to remember to post pictures.

That is so wonderful! I love hearing that people can move on when disaster strikes.

Good news, Shel.

Apparently "god" does not put out fires?

Obviously I wasn't here at the time this occurred, but I'm glad to here they've got another home now anyway. Where were they living during the interim period?

That's great news! Smile
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Thanks everyone!

Tempus, their insurance company put them up on a trailer in their yard. Sure, it is shelter, but it is not a home for them.

Nah, Min, the fire department does, or at least tries to.

See? The Fire Department would be worth worshiping....although I imagine that they are up to their eyeballs in burnt-offerings.

Haha, I did kind of worship them that day. I gave them hugs and brought them water. They were at it for about six hours.
