Yes, because clearly that's the only alternative to being an asshole.

God knows you have youthful vigor and all that comes with that. Since we have more life experience we're going to count that as pretty damned important. Out of respect for your elders, you should probably just wink and play along.
If decreptitude is all you have left, of course you have no choice but to pretend it is worth something.

Decrepitude is the worse part but just about everything else is better, you may be happy to learn. Leastwise, I'm liking it.

I personally have no issue with atheism, just how the vast atheists present their perspective, it's reactive to theism that sadly comes across with the same vigour.
If we're feeling like we're past Christianity, I think the take-away should have more to do with the place of certainty. Sort of once burned, twice cautious. I don't think anything needs to be held with the fervor that leads to smugness and a sneer. Christians shouldn't be envied for those things. It isn't a question of finding the correct object for unblinking certainty but rather learning to do without.

Seems as though you don't understand vernacular English; 'to get' something means 'to understand';it has nothing to do with acceptance.

You're right,it isn't. Atheism is only a disbelief in gods, nothing else is inferred or may be implied. My atheism is an effect of my skepticism,as is my materialist 'view.' (ie seems to be the case due to a lack of credible evidence to the contrary)

Nope, he still won't get it.
Again I refer to the equally long thread on ravingatheists.com forum from a year ago filled with just as many heads banging against the Selliejoup wall.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

It seems as though the only way for me to 'get' your position is to accept it. Strangely enough you may proclaim "there is not enough evidence" as a stand alone and objective comment. Until you realise otherwise there is no where to go and nothing to 'get'. Illustrated by your view requiring "credible evidence".
I find it as frustrating as you do, you think I'm not getting it and I think you're not getting it. Who's right? I say me, you say you.

Out of interest, who was once religious and who was not?
And are you from a predominantly area? I say this as a sanctimonious cunt as I was brought up secularly, and am from one of the most secular countries in the world. So religion played no role in my past.

Sanctimonious because all these nouveau atheists flash it around like it really makes them hot stuff? For a cunt, you do have decent self knowledge.
