You should play him at a children's card game and banish him to the shadow realm... or at least that is what I would do.

Or mindcrush him, if you are feeling anticlimactic.
My conclusion is that there is no reason to believe any of the dogmas of traditional theology and, further, that there is no reason to wish that they were true.
Man, in so far as he is not subject to natural forces, is free to work out his own destiny. The responsibility is his, and so is the opportunity.

Mind crushing should always be an option.

Do you have some examples of your posts on Facebook?

Perhaps you are expressing your beliefs (or lack of beliefs) in a matter than may be more offensive to some than it needs to be.

I have friends from both sides of the political spectrum (the closest example I experience to your situation) that post quite rude comments about people with different views than their own (I generally ignore them, which might be something you can tell your friends who are upset about what you post...maybe even, "if you don't like what you I post, you can de-friend me"....saw something like that in my News Feed after work one day) when they could easily post the same idea while still showing a degree of respect to their friends.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

You sound charming, in a Mary Poppins fashion (compliment). Your friend comes off as a bit of a cunt. Tell him to fuck off and take his imaginary friends with him.

If he is truly the 'great guy' you suggest, he will get the message, not bother you with religion and your relationship can chug along as normal.

No one has the right to tell you to censor your own facebook. If they have a problem with you, they can choose to deal with it by hiding your posts.

It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. “I’m offended by that.” Well, so fucking what?

— Stephen Fry

I love that Steven Fry quote.

My absolute favorite. That quote alone has a great potential to offend people, I find.
You really believe in a man who has helped to save the world twice, with the power to change his physical appearance? An alien who travels though time and space--in a police box?!? [Image: TARDIS.gif]

I'm guessing it's reposts from r/atheism off of reddit. At least that is what is clogging up my news feed these days.

They all basically highlight the stupidity of religion, and if you're offended by that, then maybe you should be the one to examine why. Not the other way around.

If he really wants to talk about it in private, that's great! It's always an opportunity to find out how your friend feels about some of the big questions in life (e.g. is there a meaning etc.). I love having that kind of conversation with my friends because I really get to know what they think, why they think it & how they feel about it. Frame your comment as a chance to share some of those deeper thoughts/feelings.

He says "I know what I believe and I know there's more to life than what's here right now, that there's more out there, there is a creator, there is a higher power"; I'd start by asking him 'How does he know that?'

Enjoy!
