Here I am to come to 'his aid!'

Welcome to AF and if I may argue the facts, don't let them turn the topic personal or they will sift and weigh you quickly. for most of their areguements are based on finding personal faults. (you should ask someone to list mine) On an indepth topic like this one you might want to fore go any english interpertation (KJV) or any other and differ to the Hebrew or Greek. (At least now the majority of them know it exists, and will accept a reading from it.)
This will be a baptism of fire and rightfully so, for you have entered the flame of your own accord, and all superfical religious nonsense will be burned quickly away, exposing your heart and true intentions. the question will be is what will you do with what has been revealed? Will you change what needs to change to serve God or will your pride have the last word? Things you need to consider before you continue down this road.

Although I will give you a point for making me laugh Drich, you're not exactly defending his argument. You're merely telling him good luck in an oh-so verbose style that is all your own. Undecided

Honesty demands that you admit that a slave is a slave is a slave and the hebrew were even told exactly when and how they could beat them.

Let's not forget that Lev 25:44-46 speaks about an entirely different form of servitude than the contract servitude practiced amongst the Israelites.

Context: This was culture in which it was perfectly OK,nay, expected, to kill a recalitrant child for being disrespectful. The mind boggles at how such people would treat indentured servants and slaves.

Quote:Deuteronomy 21:18-21 ESV

If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Quote: Leviticus 20:9 ESV

For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon him.

Quote: Proverbs 30:17 ESV

The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures.

My position on slavery is very clear. All anyone has to do is simply read ziplock's/pat robertson thread. Their is no need to restate anything here.

Now we know why he came here! So he can gather evidence as to what a bunch of assholes atheists are and post videos about it on the internet.

I went on an atheist site and they were mean to me! WAAAAAAAHHHHH!

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?
