All Things MAD
In order to lighten my mood I thought I'd make a tribute to one of the funniest shows ever created.
Go ahead and post all things MAD TV. (You Tube has TONS of them!)

Dead ringer for Alfred.

Forgot to add. I grew up on the magazine, but have never watched the show. I'll have to check it out.

RE: All Things MAD
Sorry for digging this thread up but somehow I missed it when it was fresh. Just wanted to add that I too grew up on MAD Magazine, the classic original American ones to the watered-down UK versions that we were given. If it wasn't for specialist comic retailers I'd have assumed that MAD was bought out or something. I've even changed my religious views in the mag's honour.

One thing I learned when I got my own internet was that nobody knows where Alfred E Neuman came from, or at least his face. The origins of the iconic picture are lost in the mists of time; his face seems to crop up at various points in history, rather like Pennywise the clown from Stephen King's IT.

I have to say I've been a little disappointed with the TV version in the past. Not saying it's not funny, just that by the time I found it I'd been spoiled by other similar comedy shows, plus to me it was as if someone had stuck the label MAD onto a completely unrelated animal. To completely contradict everything I just said, here's one of the funniest clips I've seen from the show (shame the title and intro give the game away):

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I see Herr Ratzinger's dropped the old Palpatine image, then.

My favorite episode of MAD TV was when they did the spoof of "The greatest story ever told" their version was "The greatest action story ever told" Where the Terminator went back in time to save Jesus.

"Come with me if you want to live"

In one part of the skit the Terminator busts down the door to the last supper and shoots Judas.

Jesus shouts "Why did you kill Judas"?

"He betrayed you"

"I KNOW"

Then he shoots Judas again.

Jesus "STOP DOING THAT"

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

It would have been really, really cool if someone had posted a link to that video in this thread.
