I'm in agreement
However, we have to think about who has the right to stop people from telling their own children whatever they like? Not me
My main problem is that I have no choice but to send my children to a church of england school. I have no choice because there are no alternatives - The church knows the above facts very well and have played the game very well by ensuring that they are heavily involved in the education system.
I think that to teach superstition as FACT to young minds that accept anything teachers or parents tell them is morally wrong.
My wifes job is to care for pre-school children and to give them a pre-school education. Although she is an atheist she makes a real effort to teach the children about ALL religions EQUALLY. She arranges celebrations for ALL of the major religious and cultural holidays, be it Easter, Christmas, Hannukah, Diwali, Holi, Ramadan, Nirvana day, Chinese new year, halloween or shrove tuesday.
I think this is the correct solution - to offer ALL the information without bias, but in reality how can this happen in a school who are funded by and affiliated to a particular doctrine.
And that is about The Best that one can do Chuff

im sorry that your kid must go into a such kind of a school, but isnt there any relatives? But the most important think is that he does not turn religious. If i must go to such school,i would kill my self after one month in being that school
Also we cant get rid religion by being tolerant we must act like an complete dicks to people who dont agree with us.
But then again, religion doesn't bother me that much, the thinks that bothers me is that they refuse abortion clinics, use of contraceptions, sexism,anti-gay,anti-cloning,...and other ideas that are slowing our technology processes.
This is why i support technocracy. Imagine if scientists, engineers,...people who actually make something for society run a country.

This is my idea how we should get rid of religion, pleas share yours.
I have no interest in trying to push people out of religion. People are free to believe in whatever they wish. It's not what a person believes that's the problem. It's a complete lack of tolerance and lots of aggression.
When people act on their beliefs in a negative fashion that affects others, then that's what needs to be challenged and sorted.
Religious belief is a personal thing, as long as it isn't pushed into schools or government or public places or onto my front door, then I don't have a problem.
The best way to convince a religious person that they're beliefs are folly is to allow them to think about it in their own time. The knowledge/data is out there for anyone who's interested in finding out what's true. You've just gotta make up your own damn mind.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
well the problem is that religion is pushing into our schools,i didnt got a single evolution lesson in my school and in high school they still wount teach or even mention evolution, also i cant stand those statues of christ laying all around.
Religious thinks need to be keep in churches not in public.
