What was it that George Carlin said? Something like the big square states that would be easy to fence off... this was his bit on what to do with murderers, rapists, and other such undesirables, but I think it would apply well to Republicans too. I'd give them Utah.

Aw, out of all the states that I've visited, the people of Texas made me feel the most welcome. They positively fawned over me, while I was there. I was in Austin, so perhaps people are generally nicer there?

Austin is probably the most liberal city in Texas. Not representative of the state, though a pleasant enough place to visit.

I would take this idea so much further. Clearly, like any marriage, we have come to a point where we just cannot co-mingle. I say the country should "get a divorce." The conservatives get one side and the liberals get the other. Lets just put a line right down the middle and since most of the bible belt is already in the east half of the continental US, we'll make the west side liberal. We can all stop fighting and bickering. We can have two presidents and rename the two countries, The Conservative States of America and The Intelligent States of America.
Raise your hand if you're in.

Shit, they get Texas, Lee and I are picking up stakes and moving to California. Want to come with? I can't imagine Texas will be very nice to a bunch of trannies if they get to do whatever crazy thing they want with us.

But Texas is west of the Mississippi and a lot of people would be pissed out here on the East coast! Give them the middle states or the South... Hell, I'd let them have their pick.

In my perfect world you all would get your own ranch or mansion (formerly owned by some republican rich-ass-bastard) as part of our handy-dandy liberal relocation program :-)

I like the idea of moving to Cali. Just got to clear that with my plus one
Highly doubt it'll happen unless some civil war goes down

Is Texas big enough? Sheet, here,in my state, we have a cattle station (ranch) roughly the size of Texas (I shit you not)
Quote:Anna Creek Station is the world's largest working cattle station.[1] It is located in the Australian state of South Australia. Its area is roughly 6,000,000 acres (24,000 km2; 9,400 sq mi) which is slightly larger than Israel. It is 8,000 km² larger than Alexandria Station (its nearest rival) in the country's Northern Territory and eight times the size of the United States biggest ranch, King Ranch in Texas, which is 825,000 acres (3,340 km2; 1,289 sq mi). [2]
The nearest township is William Creek (which is surrounded by the Anna Creek station), but the nearest town for freight etc. is Coober Pedy.

Well, I have a friend who, as part of her military career, did counter intelligence for the military and she's noticed some alarming similarities between Islamic fundamentalist groups and right wing American politics. If they lose this election, they are going to be pissed, big time, and I wouldn't be surprised if they do something crazy because of it. Something crazy like taking back Texas, Mississippi, Utah, Arizona, Oklahoma and maybe few other nut job states. You can read an old blog post she did on it if you want. My boyfriend and I have been following a comic mini series based on the idea of Texas forming their own theocratic government and it's kinda scary but not totally unbelievable.
