My favourite piece from Fox news was when they said that if Stephen Hawking had been born in the UK he would now be dead because of the National health service not realizing he was completely born and Bred British.

On another point, is the hypocrisy and the double standards of the left. Much was made over Limbaugh's remarks about Sandra Fluke, calling for him to be fired and demanding that his sponsors pull their ads from his show.....but where was the left when leftist Ed Shultz called Laura Ingrham a 'rightwing talk slut'? Why didn't the left demand that Shultz be fired?

It will agree that was in bad taste, but most people realize there is a huge difference between insulting a public demogouge for rabble rousing & insulting a private college student for testifying before congress.

BTW, I had no idea who Ed Shultz & Laura Ingrahm were before you mentioned them.

The more extreme your political beliefs are, the more hypocritical you generally get. I've seen hypocracy from the left, I've seen it from the right and they're pretty equal in amounts. However, I generally side with the left because I've seen far more stupidity from the right.

I am assuming this is the way "talk slut" was meant were as Rush was accusing the nice girl of being a fucking about.
Which means that you are comparing apples to a medium size family vehicle.

Although, the good news is that the poster child for far right craziness, Michele Bachmann herself, may be losing this election. I'm still hoping that if she does it will be enough of a shock to the Republican party to bring them back to reality.

The term "whore" or "slut" is sometimes used in a political context as a tasteless term for "shill" or "drone". For example, if I were to use this term for Justice Thomas, Scalia or Roberts, I might call them "corporate whores". This is not to suggest they're sleeping with corporate execs for money but they're drones who do their bidding on the bench.

Rush Limbaugh, on the other hand, wasn't talking about Fluke's political actions. He was talking openly about her sexuality, including demanding that she make sex tapes for his enjoyment.

The term even used to describe one's political activity is tasteless, I agree, and from what you've told me it sounds like Schultz was appropriated disciplined for it. Rush went into an entirely different area by attacking Fluke personally and making personal defamatory attacks against her. Apples and oranges.

But thank you for bringing this up. This is a classic example of the conservative retreat to centrism when you get caught lying or being abusive. "Both sides... both sides... but the Democrats... Tu Quoque"

She became a public figure when she spoke before Congress regarding an issue at the center of a political debate and most recently putting herself deeper into the political arena when she spoke at the Democrat Party Convention. Fluke was also an outspoken activist before this.

Wow. I'm a bit surprised you haven't heard of those two. In addition to having his own radio talk show, Ed Shultz also has his own show on MSNBC, The Ed Show. Laura Ingrham, in addition to her own syndicated radio talk show, is a well known regular on Fox News.

Sorry, you are simply incorrect here. Ingrahm is a public figure, a celebrity if you will, who is paid to do what she does. If Sandra Fluke is now a public figure (& she most certainly wasn't when Rush decided to spout his lies & insults about her), then his talk radio made her into one.

In other words, if he had shut his fat, oxycontin riddled pie-hole then very few people would even know who Sandra Fluke was.

You don't really think she be speaking at the DNC otherwise do you? I'm sorry, that just does not follow. You don't get to say "she's fair game for insulting due to celebrity" when your baseless insults are what pushed her into the limelight to start with.
