You should have heard the conversation between my boss and the owner of the company I work for earlier this morning.

Give us a summary.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

It had a lot to do with how much of an "idiot" Obama was at the debate last night and how great Romney is.

What.. The.. Fuck?!! This guy can't be for real, didn't he learn his lesson already with the 'legitimate rape' scandal? He just shouldn't talk about anatomy and biology until he can get his facts straight. What a loser!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

What it means to me, dear, is that the republicunts in Missouri are every bit as fucked up as republicunts everywhere else.

Maybe he's referring to dilation & curettage, also known as D&C?
It's used for removal of fibroids in some cases of PCOS, as well as miscarriage aftercare. Both of which are perfectly cromulent things for a women's clinic to be doing IMHO.
Just another case of a neo-con being a complete moron. Yawn.

While it's a thankfully small selection set, I've never met anyone from that state that I would trust with small children or fireworks. Just saying.

todd akin is saying clinics trick women into having abortions for profit.
Quote:Abby Johnson, a former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas who quit in 2009 and now speaks against abortion.
"I can attest that when I served as director of Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas, we often scared women into getting services they did not need including abortion so we could collect the fees. This included women who were not pregnant and women who were in the process of miscarrying," Johnson said in the written statement.
Abby Johnson is an interesting character in the anti-choice movement. A former clinic director for Planned Parenthood, Johnson has crossed over to the anti-choice side and makes a living telling Christian conservatives that the non-profit bamboozles women into getting abortions to increase profit margins. Nate Blakeslee of Texas Monthly looked into Johnson's conversion story in 2010 and not only caught Johnson in direct lies, but also found substantial evidence to demonstrate that she was about to be fired for incompetence just before switching sides. Among the lies was Johnson's claim that a for-profit group performs abortions for Planned Parenthood. In fact, all services at Planned Parenthood are non-profit, but admitting this would destroy anti-choice claims that abortion is an "industry."
Part of the problem here is that, within the conservative evangelical circles that are the backbone of the anti-choice movement, "truth" is not the truth, but simply "stories that dramatically illustrate the rightness of our belief system." So while, for instance, Blakeslee can point out that there were no abortions performed on the day that Johnson claims she saw a fetus trying to escape the abortion tools on an ultrasound--a scene she loves to describe for her rapt audiences--the literal truth of her story matters less than that it reaffirm her club's belief that fetuses are cognizant beings, gifted with more awareness than their bimbo mothers (or in Akin's words: "climate control") of what abortion actually means.

Well there's this... Me and my friends would visit this sad/scary bunny on occasion when we were bored... There was literally nothing to do in Arkansas.

Well, there's three possibilities:
1) He misspoke and was thinking about women getting pregnant for the sole sake of getting an abortion, which seems to be an actual fetish, but one which is, of course, extremely rare. I found out about this because someone discovered a Dragonball Z fanfic about how one of the main characters gets turned on by an abortion she had to have, and posted it on TV TRopes' "So Bad It's Horrible" fanfic page before it got deleted. Doing research into how widespread the fetish could have been, I found it was apparently plagiarised from another story.
2) He's an idiot.
3) He's counting on other people on being even more fucking stupid than he is.

I once met an old man in a trainstation in Hamburg Altona.
He told me how he had fought in the Waffen SS side by side with the british army against the soviet union, and that the second world war started because the soviets were gasing germans in poland.
then he told me how in the prussian army he helped drive napoleon out of germany in 1649 with a machinegun.
so you americans have these kind of people as politicians?
