I keep up with football quite a bit, mainly due to the lad culture in my social life and playing fifa with the 'lads'. Aston Villa FC supporter, only ever been to a couple of games. Most recent one was when we lost to Swansea last season, what a disappointment that was.
Outside of that I enjoy playing Golf, Snooker, Darts, Pool and I've been skiing enough times to take a general interest in it.
Oh, and I'm a member of my university's Table Tennis club. I don't like to brag, but I'm pretty fuckin' good.

Definitely football the greatest team sport in the world. (the fact that I said "world" there should give you a clue that I'm not talking about gridiron)
Americans don't like it because the scores are low - 4 to 3 would be a "goalfest" - but they are confusing quantity with quality. A basketball match may end 112-110, but each individual score is of such little importance that the pundits often do not even pause their chit-chat to note it. For consistent non-stop action with no ad-breaks, timeouts, and only one break at half time, it cannot be beaten. The players are normal , not 7 foot tall (basketball), 7 foot wide (gridiron), or musclebound (baseball, rugby).
With what other sport can you have a half decent and competitive game in an office with a rolled up piece of paper and waste paper bins for a goal ?
By the way, if you're unfamiliar with football, Arsenal are the best team in the world.
Regards
Grimesy

I used to watch NHL hockey utill they started putting adds under the ice. As if the boards weren't enough on top of the announcers being contractually bound to announce the corperate name of the arena.
If I ever see a corporate add on an NFL

If I ever in the future see a fucking add in the field goal ;net or on the field of the NFL I will stop watching that crap too. It is bad enough they put the damn X-box graphics for spot of the ball and first down graphics as if you ar retarded, but please, I have enough fucking adds during the breaks, on my computer and in my snail mail and phone siliciters.
COULD I PLEASE simply watch the game without you pestering me with adds during the game? Isn't it enough you charge 200 for team jursy that cost 5 bucks to make and sell 10 dollar hot dogs and 5 dollar 8 oz water?

I believe the ads are how the venue itself makes more money. I highly doubt it's the fault of the sport.

I gotta ask, what's with the bold violet name?
She's a powerful alien being who's blessed us with her presence. No one, not even the admins, know how she got the purple colored name. We assume it involves highly advanced technology and programing beyond what our feeble human minds can comprehend.

REALLY? Private business is out to make money? Thanks for cluing me in on that one.
But yes the adds under the ice are the fault of the sport just like a bank ceo does not need or deserve the salary they get after the create the speculation bubble and dump the cost on the rest of us
The adds are under the ice for the same stupid reason oil is over priced. When you have an oil exec testify in congress that the actual price of real suppy and demand should be 30 to 40 dollars lower per barrel the speculators sell.
The adds are under the ice not because the owners are starving, but because they are greedy. Just like oil in reality if based on solely supply and demand and not future speculation, would be reasonable.
If a NHL owner or oil exec could figure out to legally pant a microchip in your head to collect information on you, they would. Out side that it is not about providing a product anymore. Our market used to be based on that. Our current global market is based on get it now and whatever you can get away with.

Fair enough, and I suppose the violet just goes well with you're username.
Using the same logic would changing my username to 'Green Hughsie' help me con my way onto the mod team?
