Ask, Seek, Knock

Now would you do the same for someone elses bastard spawn who hates you undermines everything you do, who wishes ill on your family, curses your children personally, and leads others to do so as well? Would you risk your life for and provide for someone who has killed one of your kids? Would you consider this kid your son even after you look past all of the transgressions this bastard committed against you and your family (the death of your only son) And yet he still hated and lashed out at you every single chance he got?

Quote:Sorry pal, doesn't work that way. You don't get to have it both ways. By your own words you pretentious fuck, god SACRIFICED himself ... I certainly didn't kill him ... nobody did. In fact by saying that we killed him, takes away his entire "sacrifice." So you can shove that bull shit you're sellin.
Christ sacerficed Himself for those in this world who seek redemption. Or are you saying Christ's attonment washes away the sin of people who do not care or refuse the redemption offered by God?

Quote:Of course I wouldn't, but then again, I NEVER MADE THE FUCKING CLAIM THAT I WAS. Your god and all your fellow christards did that. Heavenly father my ass!
Your confused. For only sons of God (through the blood of Christ) enter Heaven. There are many who will not. Who do not want anything to do with God or Heaven.

Quote:First of all sheep, I'm not an atheist, so if you want to steal my insults of your religion by making use of the word "tard" please at least do it correctly.
Wow I always wanted to meet someone who coins a pop culture phrase. "Tard." Many handicap people have benfited from your consideration. In that they do not have to wait so long to get the full impact of the insult being hurled at them. Good job on that one.

Quote: Secondly, learn to use a fucking spell check. Thirdly, and most importantly, I was a christian for nearly 20 years.
By the sounds of it a devout one as well.

Quote: I know good and goddamn well that the term "father" is often used to describe your god as simply the creator of all things ... ergo, "father." You pick and choose what terms mean what when and where so as to manipulate your side like the filthy apologist you are.
Wow you sure seem to have been upset by me reminding you that you are no longer a son of the living God. That you might have been at one time, but as the prodigal son you pronounced your Father dead, and left His house. If you want to technically claim God as your Father then that is between you and God. For who am I to force you to forget that you still have the means and oppertunity to return Home. That said understand this, You have abandoned God. Worse than being someone elses bastard who kill another man's son. You were a member of the family who killed you own brother as it were. and then you left pronouncing your Father dead. As in the Story of the Prodigal son Your Father will not seek you out/hunt you down. If you wish to return He will be waiting to greet you. However if you wish to stay where you are then He loves you enough to let you do that.

Quote:I demand nothing of your god you lying piece of shit! I don't demand things of your god any more than I demand things of Allah, Shiva, Ganesha, Oden or any other false god. My only point was that you keep shooting off your mouth about how this being that supposedly loves the whole world enough to kill off his own son (or himself, or whatever) makes us ask, seek, knock, search around in the dark cause he loves himself. Tell your silly god if he loves us so much to do what any decent being would do ... just show the fuck up and stop playing games.
He has and in force. All you need to do is Go where He is at.

So, Drippy...apparently your god is a fucking liar. According to what your special pal jesus is alleged to have said the answer is never "no."

What religion is it you claim to be? You sure as fuck don't seem to be a devotee of this jesus fellow.

11 If a son asks for bread[d] from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Now the question is Are you a son? For the Promise was between a Father and Son.

In the story God is not your Father. You are the bastard son who Hates the Father and the family of the Father in this story. Which is why I asked if you were a man who Child was killed by the actions of this bastard kid, even if you could forgive him, would you welcome the bastard kid as a son if he still hated you and the rest of your family? The honest answer is no. You would hold out until this du-mas had a change of heart.

Quote:If I knew for sure that the treasure was there? Yeah, maybe. But what kind of retard would risk all they have on such a proposal entirely on the basis of an unsubstantiated promise?
That is why one is to A/S/K so that the promise is substaniated and backed with full assureance.

I think we have to keep in mind that this is just Drich's understanding of the bible and he could be totally wrong .

Why would you ignore the rest of the passage even after I posted it? Unless your point fails in the light of the following verses.

The answer is never no to a son. Again this is the process to becomming a son. But even so, If you read the whole story in Luke 11 the persistent neighbor received what He wanted as well, even though he was not a son of the neighbor. simply on the merrit of his persistence.

Hypothetically of course, how did it cost god anything if Jesus is sitting up in heaven with him right now?

Unfortunately for "both" believer and non-, the mystery is hidden in why it all went down the "way" it did!

There is a path to the Truth. It starts with Love. It ends with Life.

When you think about it really deeply...this is the ONLY way it could happen. At least w/o us being robots.

As God shared in our humanity, so we "will" share in His Divinity!

Jesus basically showed us the path to that Divinity! Which is basically shedding our flesh and being purely spiritual...because that is our true form! IF WE WANT IT! We can grow, and aspire to the perfectness of God...or the alternative! It's strictly up to us!

Like saving all those babies God supposedly doesn't care about! We have it in our collective power (whether we know it or not!) both physically and spiritually to make this world a pretty darn good place!

And guess what? When...eh...if we get to Heaven we can't tell Him: "You don't know what its like to be an f-ing Human!"

Which brings us back to the "LOVE" part! Cause that is what it's all about....with the Lord anyway.

He wants to give us His divinity! But....WE NEED TO EARN IT!Worship (large)

And then we reply: how do you know that?
-You have a book that says so.
-How did the people who wrote the book knew that?
-They were inspired.
-How is that different from making it up? (this is the question I never got answered by any theist.... crossing my fingers!!)

- I don't know! It's all based on the information we all know, Faith, and the Holy Spirit who as....

- ...written in the Gospel is the "Real Teacher".

- Jesus! The Old Testament is just that: Aside from the Words of God...it's old stories, some good some bad. The Gospel should be the main focus.

- "Making it up" is inspired by a man's lies. "Writing a story" is taking all the evidence and info you have to form an idea of what the truth is!

Obviously we decide what the [truth] is once we have "all" the [information].

We may never have, or want either!

Because the rest of the section supports my point, not yours.

Give it up. This praying shit is a jerkoff exercise for the ignorant.

Now let's think for a moment that the guy has the wrong address and spends literally his whole life knocking on the door, never realizing that the house is abandoned.

Yeah! Just like the guys who invented Zeus, it was the best they could come up with! or...they saw how sucussful older religions had been at controlling people and decided to try it out for themselves. Here's a thought: if this is the One True Faith™, then why isn't it the first? You would think that god would have chosne to reveal himself before paganism got popular. After all, worshiping him, rather than some pagan god, is one of the ten commandments (the first, in fact!). You would think it would have been a higher priority for him.
