Glory of God? I see you're selling more snake oil.

Do you know the difference between snake oil and the genuine artical? When a product does not work as advertised word gets out and people stop buying it. God has been in this business for 5000+ years.

Incorrect! People have been in the god business for 5000 years. God has yet to make an appearance, so the snake oil analogy is valid.

Doesn't anyone realize that the book of job proves that god is self-righteous? He tortures job, kills his whole family, and takes away everything he owns. When asked why he did it, he responds with:
In this entire passage, he basically says what many theists around here have been saying: god is all-powerful so don't question him. He never once appeals to moral authority; it is all about power, who gets to be the bully, and who the victim.
Job 42:1-6
Then Job replied to the Lord:
2 “I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.
4 “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.’
5 My ears had heard of you
but now my eyes have seen you.
6 Therefore I despise myself
and repent in dust and ashes.”
First, he admits god can do whatever he wants without it being right, second god gave back Job his money and a 'better' family but that can't really replace the loved ones he lost, and third, see the bolded? I believe we spoke before of contradiction involving seeing god. SO are we to expect Jesus did all of this? (As the answer for the last one was that it was Jesus in 'god' form. But these actions are far more in character with the father...)

So what, everyone who yielded to the other 3000+ gods and say that they have found him - just like you do - are lying? And you Christians alone are telling the truth?

Testify brother Drich!
Some godless heathens may call this " special pleading", because other believers in other religions also have religious experiences too. As True Christians we reject these testimonies but accept our own.
Well, to them I say you're going to do special pleading for Jesus one way or the other. Either you do it in this life or you'll do it after you die as you're on your knees begging not to be tossed into the sadistic Hell that He created. Boogie boogie!
Glory!

@ Darkstar, what makes you think that anyone respects your translation of scripture? You could not even get the Joshua scriptures correct, I gave you an explanation of the verses and you ignored them, try learning for a change, you need to know what your talking about before you can critically analyze it. Trying to tear down something just for the sake of tearing it down does not make the thing incorrect. To analyze something you first need to find the truth of the complete work. Cherry picking only shows a persons ignorance of the material he is analyzing.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Uh, they aren't my translations; I don't know Hebrew and I'd be willing to bet you don't either. I am looking at direct translations from Hebrew to English, and at lexicons showing Hebrew to English comparisons with the literal and contextual meanings of the Hebrew shown. At least Drich made some points, but I honestly have no idea how your earlier post has anything to do with what we are discussing. I am not cherry picking, and I don't know how you can draw that conclusion. The 'truth' of the complete work has never been found, I am using direct translations from the original Hebrew to get as close to the original as I can.
EDIT: Reread the posts. So you are saying that Joshua lied to all of those people, immediately after saying that he was going to tell them the word of god?

did you honestly think I was making this up as I went? That I was not actually using a legit source material?
I did not think you were making it up, I just wanted to see the source. I do not know what it means by Pharaoh="great house", but the below description suggests that it does not simply mean 'leader'.
Quote:Pharaoh, a common title of the ancient kings of Egypt, until Persian invasion. It is commonly put nakedly, like pr.n (Gen.12:15;37:36;40:2,seqq.;41:1,seqq.,and so throughout the Pentayeuch); more rarely with the addition of the words [Hebrew text] --- the chariots of Pharaoh, or made like Pharaoh's. This word properly signifies king in the Egyptian language, as was long ago observed by Josephus (Antiqu. viii. 6, 2), and in Coptic it is written pouro, from ouro ruling, king, with the sign prefixed of the m. gen., whence touro, queen, metouro, dominion (see...); it was, however, so inflected by the Hebrews that it might seem to be a Phoenicio-Shemitic word, i.q. [Hebrew text] prince (from the root [Hebrew text]), with the addition of the termination [Hebrew text].
