Deeply Religious Man Crushed By Falling Crucifix, Loses Leg

There is a god!
![]() I really do feel sorry for the guy, but the event itself ...
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
-- Homer Simpson God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion. -- Superintendent Chalmers Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things. -- Ned Flanders Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral. -- The Rev Lovejoy
That's terrible! But also funny, even though I feel bad that I find it funny. :/
I notice he gives credit to Jesus for curing his wife, not her doctors, but when he loses his leg, he doesn't blame jesus or god, he blames the very real people who should have made sure that statue was safe. And he's suing the church!! Ah, man...this story has everything. It's like a Mad TV parodoy, lol. Quote:The attorney for Jimenez, who would not allow his client to speak, said the 600-pound statue was supported by a single screw in the base. !? "Who needs screws when god will keep the crucifix standing!" what a bunch of ideots!
He's praying for a judgement from the civil court?
Isn't prayer what made him loose his leg in the first place? ![]() “Democracy is the road to Socialism.'' -Karl Marx Quote:For months, the 45-year-old pizza worker would stop and pray at the crucifix, that his wife would be cured of ovarian cancer. I'll bet 200 medical personnel at whatever hospital was involved had nothing whatsoever to do with it. The man is a fucking idiot. It should have hit him on the head. Oh, the irony. A perfect example of cherry picking. He prays to the crucifix and his wife is cured. Therefore, the crucifix cured his wife. The crucifix annhiates his leg. Therefore, the church's failutre to put in more screws annhialated his leg. This isn't simply a low standard for evidence; it has some deadly confirmation bias in it cutting both ways.
This comment on that page is pretty sad: Quote:So Jimenez PRAYS to GOD,(Unusual capitalization preserved) Where in the bible does it say that prayer comes with a fee? Most of the comments are arguing over praying to graven images, but it doesn't appear that anyone (at the time of this writing) has suggested that he prayed to the crucifix as a proxy to god, rather than worhipping the statue itself. Either way, it's pretty pathetic. John Adams Wrote:The Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.
