Your sentence probably should have stopped there ... let's be fair you guys over the pond aren't the brightest lot, what on earth is wrong with your schools over there, this is something i'm very worried about.
I won't resort to america bashing because that would be way to easy and i honestly feel you guys don't deserve that but i do think you should get your act together a bit more because i'm seeing a country in moral and financial decay and going downhill fast.

Sadly, you may be right. However, then it turns into an interesting little chicken and the egg kind of thing: Did the system make people stupid because we'e stupid and we made the system or are we stupid because we were influenced by a bad system? Past that, if you want to change that (and I do), where and how do you start?

I don't think you were stupid, you once were the leading nation of the world, helped us get out of the deep shit we were in after WWII, had/have the best universities, made major breakthroughs in science etc etc .. where to start ?
Big question .. i really don't know, at least you didn't get a moron for POTUS maybe that is a start.

This time around? No. But that doesn't mean we're above electing morons for president. Case in point:

There is an old saying, something about people who live in glass houses and stones...
Every country of the so-called Western Democracy variety has the same problem: the vast majority, or working-class, do not control their government and its agencies such as the military, police, and judicial system. The rich control all of it despite mock general elections for leaders every few years. It's not a matter of intelligence of the population that determines what idiotic things happen in one country of another, it is the will of the relatively few elite. Everyone is programmed from birth to obey and accept the status quo, including and especially those who do not benefit from it, namely common folks. That's hard to beat, and, I doubt your country has on the scale necessary to make fundamental changes that would make it very different than the United States.

I am very much against considering corporations as people. They aren't people. They don't have the same desires as people. They aren't people. Period. Therefore, they shouldn't be allowed the same rights and privileges as people.

Quote: That was a close ruling for the court and just one or two more liberal judges could easily overturn it.
First thing you need is one or two more liberal judges. Then, you need someone to bring another situation forward which meets the conditions of Citizens United. Then you need to go through the whole Federal District Court/Appellate Court routine before you get back to the Supreme Court.
Then you need to Supreme Court to overturn it.
That's a lengthy process.

Many local elections in the more liberal states like California and Maine (the most Green state) and some in the Red states even.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
