For what it's worth, I've got a recipe for peanut butter:
1 cup peanuts
1/2 tsp peanut oil
1 packet sweetener.

Grind peanuts into dust with "Magic Bullet" blender or some other blender with a flat blade.
Add peanut oil and sweetener and turn blender back on until the peanut butter is creamy.
Makes 1/2 cup peanut butter.

Trader Joe used to sell a macadamia/cashew nutbutter that was to die for. If they hadn't stopped carrying it, I might already have done so. A local store whips up fresh batches macadamia butter which is really good too. I'm too spoiled for peanut butter now.

I just LOVe Peanut butter. Of course, I have a 5-1/2 year old, so it's a staple in our house.

Even the stuff with the oil in it isn't all that bad for you. it's a very small amount. Quite a lot of sugar in there though..

But Nutella? That stuff is just candy in a jar, marketed as an alternate. I think it's over 50% sugars, right? I mean, of course it tastes good, but so does a snickers bar. I wouldn't recommend either for a healthy snack or meal, lol.

Alot of dried fruit is incredibly high in sugar but you find trail mix in the "health food" aisle nevertheless. Nutella comes in just slightly higher than most dried fruit (at 54%).....similar to raisins.....hehehe. In comparison, peanut butter is generally 9% sugar.
(and you wouldn't eat any of these products if they had less sugar in them....lol)
